Fred C. Garfield is a Senior Vice President with The Horton Group in the Benefit Services Division in Orland Park. Fred specializes in benefit solutions for employer groups of 50 to 5,000 employees and has experience with alternative financing and consumer driven approaches. He provides expertise for corporate acquisition and due diligence support, qualified retirement plans, non-qualified executive compensation, corporate financial planning, business succession and financial risk management, and estate planning needs.
Fred has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, including owning and managing a prior independent agency. He actively serves on a number of local and national industry and carrier advisory groups. Fred is a 1977 graduate of Lake Forest College and has earned the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERT, Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Registered Health Underwriter (RHU), and Retirement Plans Associate (RPA) designations and certifications.
Fred is married, has four grown children and lives in Orland Park, IL.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERT and federally registered CFP (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board's initial and ongoing certification requirements.
CEBS and RPA are professional designations awarded through the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
