Brian Lydigsen is an Executive Vice President for Horton’s Risk Advisory Solutions department. He founded and grew Horton’s renewable energy practice and is responsible for providing clients with comprehensive, cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet their most complex, risk-related challenges and opportunities.

Brian specializes in providing surety bonding and P&C insurance for the construction and renewable energy industries.
“The renewable energy industry is ever-changing, so we must stay on top of the marketplace and innovative new insurance/surety bond solutions to drive down the cost of capital for our clients,” Brian says. I learned a lot from my fellow successful producers about the insurance industry, generating new clients and retaining long-term client relationships.”

With over 10 years of insurance experience, Brian brings significant sales and business development expertise to Horton and has a track record of forging profitability.

“Many people take pride in their work, but I know it takes passion to succeed,” Brian says. Passionate people in our industry think outside the box, regularly learn new concepts and methods, provide innovative ideas, and are true advocates for the clients they work with.”

When working with clients, Brian always ensures that he puts them in the center. “I want my clients to feel that I am an extension of their risk management department,” he says. I want them to understand that I am always working in their best interests and to trust the advice I give them to achieve their goals. If they succeed, then I also have succeeded as their broker.”

Brian grew up in Orland Park, Illinois, and currently resides in Downers Grove, IL, with his wife, Laine; their twin daughters, Lucy and Vivian; their son, Banks; and their dogs, Oliver and Sully. When he’s not in the office, you can typically find him on the golf course or traveling with his family. He also enjoys anything related to sports, whether watching a game or coaching his kids’ basketball and soccer teams.
