Rob McIntyre, MBA, ARM, CPCU
Sales Executive
In 2018, after 12 years as Branch President, Rob McIntyre returned to his first love, sales. While in his executive role, Rob was responsible for the people, relationships, and performance of Horton’s Wisconsin operations. Under his leadership Horton Wisconsin’s sales tripled, paving the way for future growth under the direction of new Branch President, Ryan Smale. “I am pleased to have had the opportunity to build a high-performance team in Wisconsin, and to groom my successor,” said McIntyre. However, I am most proud of the hand I had in the development of all our staff, and the team culture we formed.”
In his new role, Rob is responsible new business production and guiding the activities of several Horton Sales Executives. “I have always enjoyed working in the field with new Producers. Pre-call planning, joint sales calls, and post-call debriefs are the best way to accelerate the learning curve of new sales reps”, said McIntyre.
For his prospects and clients, Rob draws heavily from his business experience and risk management training. Over the years, McIntyre developed a Risk Management Assessment process to help Horton clients. The process begins with understanding the client’s strategic direction and leads to prioritizing effective risk management techniques. “The primary goal of the Risk Management Assessment is to help our clients achieve a higher level of performance, Rob explained. “Most often, the best solutions have little to do with purchasing commercial insurance.” With nearly 35 years of experience in executive leadership, professional sales and risk management, Rob is uniquely prepared to protect his customer’s assets and reduce their risk profile.
A native of Sun Prairie and longtime resident of Menomonee Falls, Rob enjoys an active lifestyle. He enjoys sail kayaking trips and time with his family at their cabin “up North”. He is an avid reader and enjoys hunting, yoga, oil painting and household projects. Rob is also involved with pet therapy and organizations that serve individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities.

Rob brings focus and intensity to our business. There's no one better in the industry in anticipating and addressing insurance issues and solutions – and that's what I call a true partner.
Robert N. Trunzo, CEO
The Cuna Mutual Group
A lot of general contractors choose to ignore the realities of our industry and don’t bring up the notion of risk. I have such great confidence in Rob McIntyre that I bring him into complex negotiations and ask him to discuss the risks everyone faces in that project. Our goal is to incorporate an adequate, effective insurance and risk management package into the total cost of the contract. This often becomes an educational process for all parties involved.
