SOUTH BEND, IN (December 3, 2013) – Cassady Neeser & Brasseur, a Member of The Horton Group, is pleased to announce the expansion of our safety services in the South Bend office to include Pre-Employment Strength Testing. Pre-Employment Strength Testing is recognized as a cost-containment strategy for employers looking to reduce their overall spending on the direct and soft costs associated with Workers’ Compensation claims.

“Until now, Indiana employers had to rely on simply asking job applicants if they were able to safely perform a job,” explained Gary Glader, President of Horton Safety Consultants. “We are eager to bring this cost savings tool to companies in Indiana and southwest Michigan. It is essential for keeping employers competitive.”

Pre-Employment Strength Testing eliminates the chance of overexertion or injury by preventing individuals from pushing themselves beyond what is safe for their bodies. This is a critical measurement for any business staffing positions that include physical labor.

“We are excited to be the first company in the area to offer this critical cost-containment tool,” said Tom Cassady, Jr., President of Cassady Neeser & Brasseur. “This technology is proven to substantially reduce the cost of Workers’ Compensation claims.”

Approximately 1 in 15 new hires have pre-existing injuries that can be aggravated by the physical demands of a new job. Pre-Employment Strength Testing is 99% effective in matching the physical capabilities of a job applicant with the requirements of a new job. The 15-minute test is also important in evaluating whether injured employees can return to work.

“Many employers recognize that workplace injuries don’t just cause higher MODs and insurance premiums,” said Glader. “The indirect costs of a Workers’ Compensation claim is estimated to be four times the cost of the claim itself.” Indirect costs include lower morale, absenteeism, decreased productivity, hiring and training replacement employees, accident investigations, implementation of corrective measures, repairs to damaged equipment, and damage to a company’s reputation which can harm its ability to compete.

On Tuesday, January 21st, 2013, Cassady Neeser & Brasseur will hold a workshop on Pre-Employment Strength Testing at Windsor Park Conference Center, 4020 Edison Lakes Parkway, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
