Chicago, IL – July 1, 2014 – The Horton Group announced the addition of a new seminar series, How To Survive an OSHA Inspection At Your Jobsite.
The event is to be held on Tuesday, July 22nd, 6:00AM at Horton’s Orland Park office located at 10320 Orland Parkway and on Wednesday, July 23rd, 12:30PM at the Hilton Garden Inn located at 10 Drury Lane Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. Construction professionals may attend the event free of cost and register online at www.thehortongroup.com/workshops
This workshop is designed for construction supervisors, managers and owners who need to understand how to deal with, and survive, an OSHA inspection. Most contractors, and their field personnel, are not properly prepared for an inspection and this puts the contractor at greater risk for the damage that may result from an inspection.
How To Survive an OSHA Inspection At Your Jobsite will feature Gary Glader, President of Horton Safety Consultants. He will help demystify the OSHA inspection process by explaining why inspections occur, how to properly handle an inspection, your rights as an employer, how to avoid or minimize violations noted during the inspection, and what happens if citations and penalties are issued. This workshop will help instill more confidence in the likely event an OSHA inspection occurs at your jobsite.
The seminar will include topics such as:
- Why would OSHA show up on my jobsite?
- What rights does an employer have when inspected by OSHA?
- What rights do employees and union have with respect to OSHA inspections?
- Why should I prepare my employees for a possible OSHA inspection?
- What happens after the inspection is completed?
- How are citations and penalty amounts determined?
- How can I use the employee misconduct defense to prevent citations and penalties?
