Pauline Jakubiec Joins The Horton Group as a Risk Management Consultant

OCTOBER 10, 2012, CHICAGO, IL – Medical Arts Insurance, a division of The Horton Group, is pleased to announce that Pauline Jakubiec has joined the insurance broker as a Risk Management Consultant.  In this role, Ms. Jakubiec will be working with a variety of medical groups, physicians, hospitals and clinics to establish risk management programs while driving down costs and internal workloads.

Ms. Jakubiec arrived at The Horton Group with more than 20 years of experience in the areas of medical malpractice claims, risk management and consulting.  Pauline’s previous positions as a Director were with two of the largest hospital systems in the State of Illinois – Provena/Resurrection (now known as Presence Health) and Advocate Health Care, as well as a position with the University of Chicago Hospitals.  Pauline has taught and lectured extensively both locally and abroad, on various risk and claims related topics.  Her adept ability to connect with clients and staff will provide an opportunity to successfully impact patient safety, while reducing risk and potential liabilities within the practice setting.

Pauline is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM), The National Foundation for Patient Safety (NFPS), and an active member and former Board member of the Chicagoland Health Care Risk Management Society (CHRMS).  She is a Certified Professional in Health Care Risk Management (CPHRM) and maintains a current Illinois Producer’s license.

Pauline holds a Masters degree in Healthcare Management from Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School, a B.A. in Liberal Arts and Sciences from DePaul University, a Paralegal Certificate from Roosevelt University. She is widely regarded as one of the premier risk management specialists in the Chicagoland healthcare community.
