Sales Executive
Chad M. Winters is a Sales Executive for Horton’s Employee Benefit Solutions. In this role, Chad is responsible for providing expert employee benefits consulting, bringing new clients on board, and servicing and retaining existing clients. He is part of a team of employee benefits-focused specialists dedicated to delivering innovative healthcare solutions to employers.
Through his past work experiences at large global firms, Chad realized the opportunities and challenges associated with a vast amount of internal resources. "If the resources aligned with the client’s need, the results were great. However, if those resources didn’t align with the client’s strategy or if capacity was a challenge, it was difficult to look outside to bring in additional support. At Horton, we have many internal resources but have a proven record managing external partnerships with industry-leading companies.” Chad believes prioritizing when resources are insourced and leveraging partners to create the most efficient and seamless experience for his clients is a strength of Horton and will create the best outcome for them.
Being in the insurance industry for over seven years, Chad’s philosophy is to “control the controllable, manage what you can measure and execute on what you can impact.” And when it comes to his philosophy on client advocacy and customer service, he believes understanding a client’s business is mission critical to advocate on their behalf and deliver the service experience they need.
Chad lives by the standard that time is the most important commodity. "It’s the only thing we have a finite amount of and that we can’t find more of. The ability to control where we spend our time and on what priorities is a reflection of how we value ourselves as advisors."
Chad is focused on working with his team to innovate, design and execute a total rewards strategy for his clients that aligns with their overall Human Capital strategy. Our belief is that his success in doing that will continue to grow the Wisconsin office into the premier Human Capital Advisor firm in the state where the best strategists and consultants want to work.
Chad is from Kenosha, Wisconsin, and lives in Brookfield, Wisconsin with his wife Alison and three boys. He graduated from The University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with a degree in Political Science/History. He went on to complete his Juris Doctor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He comes from a family that loves to cook and entertain, so it is convenient that Chad’s younger brother chose to become a chef. His family’s generations long tradition of making soppressata (cured sausage) and melanzane (eggplant in oil) embodies those passions and keeps the family ties close together.
