Chris Babos is the Director of Consulting Client Services for Horton’s Consulting Services Division. In this role, Chris manages and provides sales leadership accountability to ensure all business units (Claims, Risk Transfer/Contract Review, Certificate Tracking, Safety Consulting, and Wellness) work in unison. Collectively, these services work in harmony to maximize the client experience.
Chris joins Horton with over 10 years of insurance experience, working in insurance roles across multiple areas of an agency, helping mold him into a well-rounded jack of all trades. Since 2013, Chris had worked at Assurance, a Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC company, first as a Supervisor, then as Client Services Manager, and most recently as Client Services Director. Before Assurance, he worked at Total Insurance Services for three years.
Chris’s wealth of knowledge and passion for this industry is evident when evaluating his produced results. “Whether it was becoming Total Insurance’s first employee of the year in only three years at the company to growing Assurance’s Select Commercial team by double digits over the past two years; I work diligently to get results by inspiring and supporting any team to do their very best for our clients and the organization.”
Chris believes insurance will always be a relationship-focused business. “However, entities that don’t adapt and embrace change will fail.”
His philosophy on the insurance industry’s current state aligns with his focus on customer service, an extension of the customer’s business, partnering in insurance or risk management. He emphasizes that “our customer service should be flawless. Mistakes and situations we cannot control will happen, but there is far too much competition and other outside factors for service to ever be the driving force that causes clients to leave.”
When it comes to creative processes, Chris has a few sacred concepts:
- Always come over-prepared.
- If you’re on time, you’re late.
- Pay the highest attention to detail, but don’t get lost in the weeds.
- Be tactical when needed, but always think strategically.
- Embrace and live the culture so it can be contagious.
Chris is excited about this opportunity, but is most looking forward to “helping clients with their needs and teammates grow in their careers.”
Chris attended the University of Illinois-Chicago, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. He has three designations, including Associate in General Insurance (AINS), Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS), and Small Business Coverage Specialist (SBCS).
