“We believe that to deliver Best in Class insurance, risk management and employee benefit solutions, we must be a Best in Class company,” stated Glenn Horton, The Horton Group’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board.

The Horton Group is one of the largest privately-owned insurance brokers in Illinois and one of the top 60 brokers in the United States. “I have never lost sight of my entrepreneurial roots,” Glenn said. “Helping larger, progressive companies address their intricate insurance, risk management and employee benefit needs is something I remain passionate about.”

Founded in 1971, The Horton Group’s success can be attributed to both organic growth and acquisitions, the latter which are carefully made. “We do not make acquisitions for the sake of growth alone,” Glenn explained. “It must make strategic sense.”

“We concentrate on Performance, Excellence, Acquisitions and New Client Development. We adopted this four-part strategy to help us achieve our continued growth,” Glenn continued.

The Horton Group’s primary focus is providing insurance solutions to companies with complex needs and limited resources. “Becoming a Best in Class company can mean a world of difference to a company,” Glenn said. “We look for the most effective and efficient means to provide a company with higher productivity, a safer environment, increased employee satisfaction and lower costs.”

Glenn’s vision is to operate with a entrepreneurial spirit and an enduring commitment to professionalism. “Our mission statement emphasizes the need to be driven, think entrepreneurially, hold business practices to the highest ethical standards, display continuous professionalism and carry the vision,” Glenn said. “We are proof that these values result in increased business and sustainable growth.”

The Horton Group is able to develop enhanced risk and benefit programs for their clients through continuous improvement and innovation. “We do not take our success for granted,” Glenn said. “We provide quality programs and methodologies that are proven to lower costs and increase value – this has been my goal from the beginning.”

The Horton Group believes there are long term trends which will have significant impacts on our clients and their businesses. “Often, these trends can be seen and understood many years before they actually impact business. If not precisely, in a general sense. By understanding history and its implications for the future, by consulting with experts and by bringing together clients in similar businesses, we can create a big advantage over those who don’t make an effort to understand what is coming.” Glenn said.

As leaders in the insurance, employee benefit and risk advisory businesses for middle-market companies, The Horton Group has seen how few companies are prepared to successfully deal with the risks of the future. The Horton Group also understands that traditional insurance and employee benefits only partially protect a company from those risks. “We have created Future ForumSM to help business leaders see the future by understanding, identifying and managing future risk. At the same time, understanding future risk helps leaders capture future opportunity and position their companies for success.” Glenn said.
