John Sass

John Sass is a Risk Management Consultant for Horton’s Select Business division. He is responsible for providing P&C clients with comprehensive, cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet their most complex, risk-related challenges and opportunities.

John has worked in the insurance industry since 2019, with a special focus in construction. Before joining Horton, he worked as a Risk Management Consultant with SIA Insurance Group. John believes the most rewarding aspect of his career is building long-lasting relationships with clients through his ambitious problem-solving.

“The most memorable experiences I have from working in insurance are the ones where I made a positive impact on a client’s bottom line because they entrusted me with finding a solution,” he says. “The positive feedback my clients provide, as well as their trust to continue working with me, is invaluable.”

John prides himself in his ability to persist, making sure his clients are satisfied no matter how complex their problems may be. He understands how foundational customer service is to the insurance industry and strives to make sure the service he delivers is exceptional.

“The insurance market for P&C can be challenging,” he says. “Due to circumstances beyond our control, such as the recent Hurricane Ian, we need more people willing to step up to the plate and help those who may be struggling.”

John grew up in Manhattan, Illinois. He enjoys being outdoors and participating in outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, boating and snowboarding. He’s a big sports fan and can be found rooting for the Bears, White Sox, Bulls and Blackhawks and even attended the 2015 Super Bowl.
