Wayne Seybold is a Senior Vice President for Horton’s Employee Benefit Solutions, with a concentration in the public sector. In this role, Wayne is responsible for providing expert employee benefits consulting, bringing new clients on board, and servicing and retaining existing clients. He is part of a team of employee benefits-focused specialists dedicated to delivering innovative healthcare solutions to employers.

Wayne brings over 30 years of experience in the areas of Business Development, Sports and Family Entertainment, Government, Economic Development and International Business. Additionally, he spent 13 years in the C-Suite area. Most recently, he served as Chief Revenue Officer of Idlis HR, where he created new revenue streams for the company and developed sales and marketing strategies. Prior to that, he was the Director of Business Development for ELAP Services, working with clients in the government sector across six states, and bridging the gap between the sales and CRM teams.

To say his experience is “unique” is quite an understatement – for 12 years, Wayne served as the mayor of Marion, Indiana (the first person in the history of the city to be elected for three consecutive terms). Additionally, Wayne is an Olympian – in 1988, he and his sister, Natalie, represented the United States of America in the Winter Olympic Games in Calgary, Canada in the sport of Pairs Figure Skating.

“Whether I’m preparing a presentation or developing a new strategy, I put forth the same work ethic, coachability and drive that got me to the Olympic Games and in the Mayor’s seat,” he says.

Wayne is known for putting clients first. He readily makes himself available, will always advocate on their behalf and consistently offers the best possible service: “If we ask clients to allow us to earn their business, then we should do everything in our power to make sure they are taken care of.”

Wayne puts just as much energy mentoring younger people in a variety of ways, ranging from serving as a guest speaker for MBA programs to volunteering with the Special Olympics and YMCA of Grant County: “I think the best thing that we can do is invest time, talent and treasure in our youth. That means being available, listening, educating, holding them accountable, praising accomplishments and showing up when things go wrong unconditionally. We need to do this with accolades, do all of this like no one is watching.”

Wayne currently resides in his hometown of Marion, Indiana. He lives with his wife, Jennifer; their three kids, Michael, John and James; and their dog, Zach.
