Javier Reyes is a Risk Management Consultant for Horton’s Risk Advisory Solutions Division. He is responsible for providing Horton clients with comprehensive, cost-effective, and innovative solutions to meet their most complex, risk-related challenges and opportunities.

With over eight years of experience in the insurance industry, Javier has dedicated his entire career to serving clients within the trucking sector. His extensive experience ranges from working with small businesses to managing risk for large fleets of over 250 units. Throughout his career, Javier has consistently demonstrated his ability to predict and prepare for risk scenarios, helping clients maintain continuity even in the face of significant challenges. He takes pride in seeing the coverage he recommended protect his clients and keep their businesses running smoothly when the unexpected occurs.

Javier’s commitment to client service is rooted in his belief that the insurance industry has become too transactional, losing sight of the core purpose: serving clients. He maintains that client advocacy should go beyond just providing quotes and issuing certificates, emphasizing the importance of building strong, trusting relationships. “We serve our clients – not the carriers we place them with,” Javier says. “Our role is to ensure that our clients’ needs come first while balancing the interests of the broader client base.”

One of the most memorable moments of Javier’s career came during a late-night call from a client who was facing a difficult situation. Being able to provide reassurance – not just as an agent, but as a friend – was a powerful reminder of why he does what he does. His clients often praise his attention to detail, persistence, and unwavering commitment to doing right by those he serves. “If you work hard and do right by the people around you, most things in life will work out for the best,” he reflects. “We can only control the controllable, and our focus should always be on executing those tasks to the best of our ability.”

For Javier, the most rewarding part of his role is seeing his clients grow and succeed despite the challenges they face. Whether offering proactive guidance, troubleshooting unexpected issues or celebrating his clients’ successes, Javier finds immense satisfaction in being a reliable partner through it all.

Originally from Clovis, CA, Javier comes from a large, tight-knit family that includes his ten amazing sisters. Outside of work, he leads an active and dynamic life – coaching high school wrestling, competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and attending countless concerts. Known for being the life of the party, Javier’s energy and charisma light up every wedding dance floor – an attribute that has earned him invitations to around 50 weddings over the past seven years. At home, he enjoys quality time with his black lab, Mijo, and values the balance between his professional commitment and his personal passions.
