Karen Springstead – Vice President, National Pharmacy Practice RxSolutionsKaren leads the MMA National Pharmacy Practice, MMA RxSolutions. She has been with MMA since June 2017 and is based out of New Jersey. Karen has consulted with self-funded employers to maximize value, contain pharmacy costs, and limit risk across MMA’s book of business. Karen is an expert in providing pharmacy financial and consulting support on specialty and non-specialty formulary management, key drug strategies, rebate optimization and insight on market dynamics. Since the beginning of her carrier, Karen has had a passion for helping clients make data driven decisions regarding their pharmacy experience. With over 25 years of experience managing pharmacy benefits with positions across large pharmacy benefit managers, Karen leads key stakeholder relationships and negotiates market leading competitive pharmacy contracts that align with our clients’ goals and objectives. Prior to joining MMA, Karen held multiple positions at Express Scripts where she consulted with over 30M lives across Express Scripts Health Plans and key employer accounts. She collaborated with various large pharmaceutical companies to negotiate rebate discounts, price protection and other value-based contracts. Karen has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Susquehanna University. She is a Member of the Academy for Healthcare Management and holds a Producer’s Health and Life License. In her free time, Karen enjoys spending time with her husband and cats, going to the beach, and attending sporting events, shows and concerts. |
