Horton Group Awarded Highest Honors by Building a Healthier Chicago

September 04, 2012, CHICAGO, ILThe Horton Group will be awarded Gold recognition by Building a Healthier Chicago’s Healthy Worksite Initiative for its exemplary worksite wellness efforts. Building a Healthier Chicago is a joint program designed by the Chicago Department of Public Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Regional Health Administrator, the Chicago Medical Society and the Institute of Medicine of Chicago. The initiative focuses on improving the health of Chicago residents and employees through public health, medicine and community promotion activities.

On September 12, Dr. James Galloway, Assistant U.S. Surgeon General and Regional Health Administrator of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will honor The Horton Group at the initiative’s Employer Wellness Forum.  

The Gold category is being awarded to a limited number of top performing companies that meet and exceed the objectives of Healthy Worksite Initiative.  

The Horton Health Initiatives (HHI) division began in 2007. HHI wellness programs provide significant benefits. Employers that implement such programs experience lower premiums, improved employee morale and reduced absenteeism. HHI delivers measurable health care cost savings to organizations.
