  • Want to find out what the best in the industry are doing for safety?
  • Need some new ideas to keep your safety program fresh or turnaround your safety culture?
  • Think you’re the best and want to find out?
  • Want to know how to get the most insurance premium credits through your safety program?

If you answered yes to any of these questions above, you might be interested in the Safety Scorecard we put together using the best practices we’ve picked up through our clients, the industry, GAWDA safety committee and what insurance carriers are looking for. The best performers are consistently finding ways to improve and have the best claims history, which also usually translates into a healthy culture.

If you want to be the best, compare yourself to the best.

At Horton/MMA, we have been working with the welding & gas industry for over 40 years and have seen what it takes to run a good safety program. We’ve also seen extremely good operators still run into safety challenges and claims. We can use our experience to help you avoid something bad happening or even catastrophic.

Safety Scorecard – What is it and what’s your process?

  • We developed a 61-point safety scorecard to help a welding & gas distributor determine where they are on their safety journey
  • The scorecard asks questions in several categories, such as overall management, fleet, employee safety, property protection, product & general liability, and financing & claims
  • The assessment is typically conducted via video conference and usually lasts 30-60 minutes
  • The result is a true assessment of how you stack up, including ideas to take your safety program to the next level

At Horton/MMA, we work with more welding & gas industry clients than any other broker in the country. Our practice was born out of the insurance crisis for the industry in the mid-80s, and since then, we haven’t stopped supporting the industry by bringing best-in-class insurance and risk management solutions.
