Anthony Hamo is a Vice President for Horton’s Risk Advisory Solutions. In this role, Anthony is responsible for providing Horton clients with comprehensive, cost-effective, and innovative solutions to meet their most complex, risk-related challenges.

Anthony has been in the insurance industry for 15 years, serving as a Vice President at Marsh USA for three and a half years, before that a Property Broker with RT Specialty for six years.

In his daily work, he has one concept that remains sacred, “maintain an honest and ethical relationship with all of your colleagues and customers – including on-time and accurate communication.”

With his strong emphasis on accurate and timely communication, his philosophy of the insurance market and industry aligns with that notion.

“From a property standpoint, with the major losses in 2017 and 2018 due to floods, earthquakes, and wildfires, the market has changed. Accounts with wind-related exposures and losses (notably in the Carolinas, Florida, and Texas) will undoubtedly face renewals with increased rates, potentially less broad terms, and reduced capacity. Rates are going up, and there isn’t as much capacity (frame habitational, hospitality and food), for example.  As a whole, this is a time to show our customers Horton’s expertise and guidance in a tough and complex market place.”

Anthony’s fondest memory in the industry over these last 15 years is the networking and personal connections made in the industry.

Before providing strategy and recommendations to a client, Anthony stresses, “we have to look out for our customers and make sure that Horton provides them with the best opportunities to succeed. Now, this can be through cost-savings or providing insightful tactics to help grow their businesses. We need to be available and on the ball ensuring customers have the best access to information and solutions to any questions or issues that can arise at any moment.”

Anthony graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, Social Science from Michigan State University. He was also a member of the Division I basketball team during his time there. He has also been an active member of the 100 Club of Chicago since 2013.
