Bridget Garling is a Client Service Manager, overseeing the operations of Horton’s Personal Insurance division. She is part of a team of specialists dedicated to delivering the proper personal insurance solutions and protection tailored to the needs of individuals and families.
With 15 years of experience in the insurance industry, Bridget ensures that the division runs smoothly, prioritizing timely, professional client care and fostering an environment where agents have the training and support needed to succeed.
Bridget’s dedication to client service is matched by her commitment to building a cohesive and confident team. Her role goes beyond managing daily operations – she actively mentors her direct reports, helping them grow in their careers and empowering them to deliver exceptional client experiences. Seeing her team succeed and witnessing their confidence in handling complex situations is one of the most rewarding aspects of her role.
“There is no better feeling than when a claim happens and your agent can confidently say, ‘You have coverage for that,’” Bridget says.
Bridget’s extensive experience in personal insurance has honed her ability to make quick, informed decisions, especially in high-pressure scenarios. Her past experience has given her invaluable patience and de-escalation skills, which are essential in managing client expectations and addressing concerns with empathy and clarity. Colleagues often praise her deep industry knowledge and her ability to break down complicated insurance concepts into easily understandable information.
“Insurance can be confusing at the best of times,” Bridget explains. “It’s our responsibility to make sure our clients make the best-informed decisions for themselves and their families – and to go to bat for them when the need arises.”
A firm believer in collaborative decision-making, Bridget values input from her team, especially when choices impact others. “No one knows everything,” she says. “Listening – and truly understanding what you’re hearing – is crucial.” This approach not only fosters trust but also strengthens team dynamics, allowing for consistent, reliable client service.
Originally from Cedar Lake, Indiana, Bridget lives on a farm with her husband and two children, surrounded by a menagerie of cats, cows, chickens and turkeys. An adventurous spirit, she once spent a month in Australia as a student ambassador, an experience that sparked her lifelong appreciation for diverse perspectives. When not managing her team or taking care of the farm, Bridget enjoys spending quality time outdoors with her family.
