Dennis Moynihan is a Vice President for Horton’s Risk Advisory Solutions. In this role, Dennis is responsible for providing Horton clients with comprehensive, cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet their most complex, risk-related challenges.

Insurance is in Dennis Moynihan’s blood. He is the third generation of insurance producers in his family. His grandmother, mother, father, and brothers are/were all top performing sales professionals in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Horton in August of 2015, Dennis served as a Financial Analyst for The Hartford Insurance Group. Dennis worked directly for the CFO of a business unit that brought in $4 Billion in insurance premium annually.

“Having had a corporate finance view of the insurance industry on the carrier side allows me to understand the true cost of risk and how an underwriter views profitability,” explained Dennis.

Dennis believes technology and innovation will differentiate agencies over the next 20 years. However, he notes that a deep, respected personal relationship is still the number one driver in both sales and client satisfaction.

“Providing a great customer experience – from the first point of contact to handling the first claim – is my number one priority,” said Dennis. “What I offer my clients is ease of doing business and accessibility.”

Dennis’ most memorable experience working in insurance so far has been winning a large transportation account by consolidating a complex program to a simpler solution with better coverage and more competitive pricing. Dennis enjoys the challenge of finding solutions within this changing environment. In fact, the most rewarding aspect of his position at Horton is providing solutions clients do not know exist. He enjoys changing clients’ perceptions of what a typical insurance agent does by offering them a better product or service.

Dennis attended Indiana University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Economics and Public Policy Analysis.

Growing up in Highland, Indiana, Dennis was one of three children. He currently lives in Northwest Indiana. In his time away from work, Dennis enjoys fitness, coffee, travel, art and fashion. A reminder of his time playing soccer in college, Dennis has a dog named PK, which stands for “penalty kick” in soccer.
