Jonathan Reinecke is a Shareholder and serves as an Executive Vice President in Horton’s Employee Benefit Solutions Division. Jonathan tried to make a career out of fighting food insecurity after his first, life-changing trip to India. After he transitioned to Insurance, Jon has continued his pursuit of eradicating hunger in his local communities and has found a natural overlap in his professional and philanthropic efforts. He brings several years of healthcare insurance experience to Horton’s team of risk advisors, employee benefits and insurance specialists. In his role at Horton, Jonathan is responsible for providing strategic, cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet his clients’ most complex, employee benefits and healthcare challenges.

“There is no doubt that Healthcare Reform has added new levels of complexity in managing their organizations benefits and staying compliant. Employers can see these changes as a burden,” states Jonathan.  “I have a unique approach and strive to maintain that ‘human touch’.  Most employers realize changes to their benefit plans greatly affect their employees. I always remember – the strategy we develop affects the businesses financial resources and also the lives of the people that work for them.”

The evolving insurance terrain can be both daunting and demanding.  Clients need experts who can deliver value far beyond selling insurance; they need a partner in navigating the unpredictable nature of reform.

“Healthcare Reform can be an obstacle; however, where there is a challenge there is also an opportunity. The changing landscape of Healthcare in this country has cultivated new, innovative strategies for employers,” explains Jonathan. “I deliver to clients an insightful perspective; uncovering opportunity they did not realize existed. My strategic, concentrated approach to mitigating risk and cost allows clients to focus on their long-term goals while hardening their bottom-line, freeing up capital.”

Jonathan attended the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois and the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, where he earned a Bachelor of Architecture Degree. He also attended IE Business School (Institute de Empressa) in Madrid Spain where he earned a Master of Management/International Business Degree.

Jonathan currently resides in Lombard, IL.  In his spare time, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.  He is also regularly spends time golfing, hiking, camping, home remodeling and designing furniture. In between his many commitments, Jonathan makes time to give back, donating significant time to Dan Gibbons Turkey Trot, a charity raising funds to feed the hungry.
