Josh Bergman

Josh Bergman is a Senior Vice President and the Practice Leader for Horton/Marsh’s Employee Health & Benefits division. He leads a team of client-facing sales professionals across Illinois, driving growth, retention and quality outcomes. As a key member of senior leadership, he helps shape the vision and strategy for the Midwest region while embodying MMA Midwest’s core values and long-term goals.

Josh is passionate about empowering his team to reach their full potential through skill building, mentorship and a growth-oriented culture. He is dedicated to enhancing client relationships by delivering tailored, value-driven employee benefits solutions that meet the unique needs of diverse industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, retail, hospitality/entertainment, public entities, technology and banking/finance.

“Client advocacy and customer service are at the foundation of what we offer,” Josh says. “If there is any weakness to this foundation, none of the strategic guidance or unique offerings will have a chance of realizing their full impact. Everyone expects a customer service experience that is empathetic, understanding, helpful and timely. That standard will always exist for our team.”

With over a decade of experience in health insurance production and consulting, Josh brings a proven track record of success and leadership. He is a five-time recipient of the President’s Club Award for his success in new business development. He has also been active with SHRM as a partner and speaker. On the personal side, Josh coaches youth soccer and baseball and has been a guest lecturer at his alma mater, Carthage College, for over 10 years.

Josh believes the most rewarding part of his work is seeing his team members grow professionally and personally, celebrating their successes along the way. He values listening deeply, creative problem-solving and fostering genuine relationships with clients and colleagues alike.

“Every single person is going to have a different set of skills to boast and others to improve upon,” he says. “Through a view of multiple lenses, I feel responsible for drawing out the best in each team member.”

Josh lives in Eagle, WI, with his wife and two children. When he is not in the office, you can typically find him running, walking or hiking through the great outdoors (and he loves fishing and golfing when the opportunity strikes). He is also passionate about literature and enjoys reading physical copies of books and listening to audiobooks.
