Lisa Meek is a Client Executive for Horton’s Risk Advisory Solutions Division. In this role, Lisa is responsible for providing Horton clients with comprehensive, cost-effective, and innovative solutions to meet their most complex, risk-related challenges.

Lisa is no stranger to the insurance industry as she’s been in it for over 28 years. Before joining Horton, Lisa served as a Senior Client Manager at Cassady, Neeser, & Brasseur; and she would continue this role through the merger of Horton Group and CNB. She also gained a variety of experience by getting promoted as an HRAS Team Manager and then a Marketing Manager. These experiences equipped Lisa with extensive knowledge in the insurance industry, along with the development of her creative processes of “being thorough, organized, and open to what is going on around you. Help your team. If you don’t know an answer, don’t be afraid to say so, and then go find the answer.”

Lisa’s philosophy on the current state of the insurance industry is that “times are changing, and we need to change with those times. Be flexible and up to date on market conditions, and always be specific, not vague. The market is hardening and we need to make sure that the ways we deal with the market align with these changes.”

When it comes to client advocacy and customer service, Lisa emphasizes the importance of establishing trust and building relationships with each client.

“It’s crucial to know our clients and the team. I believe that being open, honest, and not being afraid to ask questions,  is a key factor in any successful client relationship,” she said.

Lisa is also known for her dedicated work ethic and her close attention to detail. “It’s essential to be thorough and organized in this line of work. We need to be consistently available for our clients and answer the phone and emails promptly.” And while taking care of clients is critical, she is also available for teammates whenever they have a question about insurance or a situation at hand. This is what Lisa credits as the biggest proof of why she is good at what she does.

Lisa grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania and has lived most of her life in Southwest Michigan. She has been married for 35+ years with two children and eight grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, reading, spending time with her friends, cooking, and riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle. When asked to name two songs that symbolize her life story, she says “Fast Cars and Freedom” by Rascal Flatts, and “Humble & Kind,” by Tim McGraw.
