Matt Murphy is a Client Strategist for Horton’s Risk Advisory Services, where he maintains a high level of coordination between sales and operational/client services activities. In his role, Matt focuses on providing prospects and clients with a holistic understanding of insurance.

While ensuring the attainment of robust insurance terms and conditions at competitive prices remains a key objective for both Horton and its clients, Matt places equal emphasis on aspects such as claims handling, safety management, risk transfer, benchmarking and periodic reviews.

“Having spent six years as an underwriter, I understand the intricate nuances of insurance coverage,” Matt says. “This background equips me with the expertise to decipher, interpret and advocate for optimal coverages tailored to our clients’ needs.”

Matt’s philosophy towards the insurance industry underscores its continuous evolution. He recognizes the dynamic nature of coverages, market pricing and external factors like AI, emphasizing the importance of forward thinking and planning for clients’ success. Above all, Matt prioritizes caring for clients, explaining complex concepts and delivering tangible results.

Originally from the South side of Chicago, Matt currently resides in the Western Suburbs with his wife, Katie. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time on the golf course, relaxing at his parents’ lake house, or participating in various sports activities.
