Melanie Fitzgibbons

Melanie Fitzgibbons is a Risk Transfer Consultant. In this role, Melanie is responsible for overseeing and reviewing all Horton client contracts specific to the insurance requirements, indemnification obligations and limitation of liability. She also assists clients with the implementation of their risk transfer program and “makes recommendations on how to increase efficiencies and improve customer satisfaction.”

Before joining Horton, Melanie worked as a paralegal at the law firm Tressler LLP, which gave her experience in insurance coverage litigation. At Tressler, she worked in a practice group, which defended personal injury and litigated insurance coverage matters.

“Working in litigation required me to examine issues from multiple angles, pay the utmost attention to detail, and always keep client satisfaction in mind.”

When it comes to being a consultant, Melanie believes that it is critical to be on the “cutting edge of creative solutions.” To her, the world is evolving fast, so doing what has always worked is not enough. “If you aren’t constantly looking for new and creative ways to support your current clients and earn new business, you will be left behind.”

Melanie always wants to do what is right for her client, no matter how long it takes or how difficult the option may be.

Melanie received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Government at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. A few years later, she attended Loyola University in Chicago to earn her graduate degree. There she received her Professional Certificate in Paralegal Studies. Melanie currently lives in the Chicago suburb of Morton Grove. She loves trips to the lake, bike rides and reading. When she is not doing all that, you can catch her at a baseball game rooting on her favorite team, the Cubs.
