Patrick Carrigan

Patrick Carrigan is a Senior Claims Advocate for Horton’s Risk Advisory Solutions Division. In this role, Patrick provides advocacy and high-level claims consulting for Horton’s clients. He is responsible for helping clients understand their exposures and mitigate costs while helping them navigate the complicated claims process.

Patrick joined Horton’s Claims Advocacy team in November 2017, bringing nine years of experience in insurance. Patrick’s previous positions included serving as a Workers’ Compensation Adjuster and Auto Insurance Adjuster at Travelers Insurance. Before this, Patrick served as an Operations Representative at Bank of America.

“My years as an insurance adjuster taught me how to explain complex concepts and issues to clients in a clear and concise manner,” said Patrick. “It’s also important to share new information as soon as it becomes available, so everyone stays informed.”

Patrick’s most memorable experience working in insurance occurred when he settled two separate workers’ compensation claims, each involving a fatality. The surviving spouses found Patrick’s level of service and attention to be so good; they did not feel the need to hire attorneys.

At Horton, Patrick’s goal is to provide the highest level of claims service and expertise to his clients.

“Outstanding advocacy and service means making your clients’ concerns paramount, keeping your promises, and working alongside clients to ease their worries,” said Patrick.

For Patrick, the most rewarding aspect of his position at Horton is that his clients know their claims concerns are his number one priority and that he is the person they can go to for guidance.

Patrick believes that customers are expecting more for what they purchase in all industries. In the insurance industry, representatives must continue to adapt to changes in the marketplace to stay competitive.

Patrick attended DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He grew up in Woodridge, Illinois, where he currently resides. In his time away from work, Patrick enjoys travel, collecting wine, and attending Motorsports racing events.
