Ryan Woods is a Sales Executive for Horton’s Risk Advisory Solutions Division, where he is dedicated to providing clients with comprehensive, cost-effective and innovative solutions to address their most complex risk-related challenges and opportunities.

Ryan’s daily responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with external and internal stakeholders, conducting sales meetings/presentations, handling client concerns, finding prospects and leads, mastering product knowledge and gathering market and customer information.

With a decade-long sales career in the insurance business, Ryan believes he is well-prepared for this opportunity. He has been complimented on his knack for building trustworthy relationships and advocating for his clients.

“It’s our duty and obligation to leave no stone unturned and to be proactive in our approach to helping our clients achieve their goals,” he says. “Bricks don’t build champions, people do!”

Ryan believes the current state of insurance is moving into more of a transactional environment. He feels it’s their duty, obligation and responsibility as risk advisors to avoid commoditizing the insurance industry.

“Sales Executives are the conduit to our customers creating and maintaining a safe work environment for their company and employees, navigating complex claims and helping businesses achieve their goals,” Ryan says.

Ryan attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater as a Graduate Assistant Wrestling Coach. The sport of wrestling proved yet again to be a worthwhile investment into his personal development as his tenure at UW-Whitewater led him to the insurance industry. Previously, Ryan served as the Head Wrestling Coach at Oconomowoc High School for four years where he lead the program to a top 10 finish in the state for the first time in the history of the program. He stepped down from his position in 2023 to spend more time with his family and focus more on his career, but he intends to return to coaching next year.

Ryan has two beautiful children: his daughter Montana and son Brice, whom he considers his greatest blessings and life calling. He resides in Oconomowoc, WI. Beyond his professional pursuits, Ryan is an avid fitness enthusiast who enjoys coaching wrestling, sauna sessions, embracing lake life, golfing, fishing, supporting the 49ers, savoring steak dinners and (recently) hunting.
