Thomas Wyszomirski is a Vice President and Senior Consultant dedicated to leading and managing Horton’s health consulting services for the Multiemployer Consulting Solutions team. He performs, manages and reviews budget forecasts and financial projections and develops tools and processes for the health benefits team. He is also responsible for vendor relationships, negotiations and renewal analysis.

Thomas spent 11 years at one of the largest actuarial consulting firms in the multiemployer market, where he worked his way up from an analyst to a health benefits consultant. He worked with various multiemployer, public sector and higher-education clients across the country, including self-funded and fully insured health and welfare plans ranging from 100 to 50,000 lives. During his time there, he was critical in consulting with the multiemployer clients and the internal teams (auditing, model development, training). This gave him a unique experience to assist in developing a foundation for Horton’s growing Multiemployer Consulting Solutions team.

“I am excited to create new, fresh and innovative solutions for our multiemployer clients and prospects,” Thomas said. “I also look forward to developing tools that take advantage of modern methodologies for report generation that will create service efficiencies.”

When working with clients, Thomas has developed a reputation as a trusted advisor, reflected in his work for the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) in bargaining. He developed a flexible model that produced dynamic budget projections to price out proposals accurately and quickly. As a result, his team became trusted by both the employer and union sides throughout bargaining to come to a consensus for negotiations.

“Not all clients are the same,” Thomas says. “As a result, the care and solutions must be flexible. However, the root of all client service is communication and relationship development. By being transparent and developing a cooperative bond, any client’s needs can be met.”

Thomas was born and raised in Chicago and currently lives in Palatine with his wife and two dogs (a yellow lab mix and a rat terrier). Outside the office, he is an avid golfer, woodworker and Chicago Bears fan.
