Over the past three decades Tom Cassady has built a well-rounded career in underwriting, customer service and executive leadership. Cassady’s career began in 1983 when he took a position in Chicago with General Accident Insurance as an underwriter. In 1985 Tom joined Rollins Burdick Hunter (now part of Aon) as an Account Executive where he focused on client service and new business development. In 1987, Cassady moved to South Bend joining Cassady Neeser & Brasseur (CNB) as a producer and moved up the ranks to Partner, Owner and Managing Partner.
As Managing Partner, Cassady focused on organizational growth through acquisition and new business sales. In 2012, he and the other CNB partners facilitated a merger between CNB and The Horton Group, where he now serves as President of the Indiana Division.
Today, Cassady’s role as Executive Director of Commercial Lines includes overseeing all Horton Risk Advisory Services carrier and vendor contracts. He focuses on building strong carrier and vendor relationships at a national and regional level. He is also responsible for carrier production and service development and innovation. Tom works in concert with the Executive Directior of Employee Benefits to drive specialization across Horton.
At the end of the day, Cassady knows that the Agency’s attention to detail is what sets his service apart. “When one of our clients approaches us with complicated issues, we listen to all the details of their unique situation and then orchestrate a smooth solution utilizing our team of experts. Each employee must deliver an outstanding individual performance while working in harmony with their team members. It’s imperative that we are always giving our client’s an experience that is both exceptional and memorable.”
Cassady recognizes that insurance advisors are needed now more than ever. “Businesses and individuals continuously face challenges and need an advocate on their side. They need someone who understands issues such as health care reform and can help them minimize their risks while being mindful of their costs. Nothing motivates me more than being a part of each client’s success.”
What inspires Cassady is the variety of clients and types of industries that he gets to work with – from a pet food manufacturer to medical malpractice. “Nothing motivates me more than being a part of each client’s success.”
