Tony Nyers

Tony Nyers is a Vice President for Horton’s Employee Benefits Solutions. He helps employers manage their benefit plans by partnering with organizations to navigate complexity, solve challenging issues and apply forward-thinking benefits strategies that support both the business and its people.

With 29 years in the insurance industry, Tony brings a uniquely broad perspective shaped by experience across the healthcare ecosystem. Before owning his own agency, he served as an executive for a third-party administrator managing medical, dental and vision plans for more than eight years. This background has been essential preparation for helping employers adapt as benefits costs rise and the market continues to evolve rapidly.

Tony’s approach is rooted in advocacy and continuous improvement. “I view every problem or issue a client brings to me as an opportunity,” he says. “It is never about me – it is always about the client.”

Known for his responsiveness, deep knowledge and creativity, Tony is most often complimented for being on his clients’ side through difficult moments. He measures success by the strength and longevity of his relationships – his clients have only left due to acquisitions, closures, or when he has changed companies.

Tony is also active in the industry and community. He previously served as Board Chair of the Michiana Chapter of the American Heart Association and has held several committee roles with the Self Insurance Institute of America (SIIA), which he has been a member of since 1999.

Tony and his wife, Lisa, have been married for 36 years and are both from the South Bend area. They have three grown children – Nicole, Mitchell and Cecilia – and a four-year-old granddaughter, Christine, along with a 12-year-old yellow lab, Hoosier. Outside of work, Tony has run 13 full marathons (plus numerous half marathons) and enjoys snow and water skiing, golf, traveling, cooking and playing poker.
