INDIANAPOLIS, IN (May 22, 2024): The Horton Group, one of the largest privately-held insurance brokers in the United States, has been ranked #6 in its category for the “Best Places to Work in Indiana” by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.

The statewide survey and awards program is designed to evaluate participating organizations and honor those with the highest levels of employee satisfaction and engagement in the workplace. The rankings were determined by employer reports and comprehensive employee surveys. Horton was one of 31 companies in the “Large Companies” category (with 250-999 U.S. employees). A record number of 193 total businesses were recognized at the awards program. The full list is available here.

“The Best Places to Work in Indiana program is such a great resource in today’s talent-driven economy,” Indiana Chamber President and CEO, Vanessa Green Sinders, said. “More and more organizations are valuing the feedback they receive through the anonymous employee survey component, which helps them better understand their own team members and, in turn, know if they are on the right track with policies or where they can improve their culture and productivity.”

This is Horton’s third time being recognized as a “Best Places to Work in Indiana.” The agency currently has two Indiana offices in Noblesville and South Bend.

Winning organizations represented more than 40 cities and towns, with multiple honorees coming from Carmel, Evansville, Fishers, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Marion, Plainfield, Warsaw and Washington. In addition, several businesses have multiple Indiana locations.

In addition to the awards in May, winners will be recognized via a special section of the Indiana Chamber’s BizVoice® magazine and through Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick – both of which reach statewide audiences. Additional program partners are HR Indiana SHRM, Indiana Department of Workforce Development, Institute for Workforce Excellence, Wellness Council of Indiana and Workforce Research Group.

All companies that participated in the 2024 Best Places to Work program receive an in-depth evaluation identifying strengths and weaknesses according to their employees. In turn, this report can be used in developing or enhancing employee retention and recruitment programs.
