Starting as an Account Manager nearly 20 years ago, Doug Henderson has steadily risen through the ranks at The Horton Group’s Wisconsin office. In his role as a Client Executive for Horton Risk Management Services, Doug makes certain he doesn’t forget how he got to where he is today.
“I was mentored when I joined The Horton Group in 1988, which proved to be an invaluable experience,” Doug explained. “I have now assumed the role of mentor and take pride in the fact that I work closely with several of our rising stars. Ensuring the longevity of this unique company is very important to both our employees and our clients.”
Doug feels that the success of a risk management program is dependent on the level of communication between the client and their broker.
“When working with clients, my priorities are to stay responsive to their needs and proactively communicate fresh ideas for their insurance program,” Doug said. “I always put my client needs and interests before my own, and I believe the reward for my efforts is their trust and loyalty. I’m confident my clients would echo this sentiment.”
Doug believes that safety and proper management practices are critical to the long-term success and stability of his client’s insurance programs.
“There is a direct correlation between the strength of a safety program and the number of claims filed,”?Doug said. “The clients that my team?works with all have very strong safety programs, which in turn greatly improves their bottom-line.”
Doug grew up in rural Minnesota and currently lives in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. At the request of his wife and four children, Doug makes a mean pancake on weekend mornings. And when free time opens in his family’s busy activity schedule, Doug can be found enjoying a challenging round of golf on the golf course.
