Dan Galos is a Vice President for Horton’s Select Business Division, serving manufacturing clients with a special focus on Distilled Spirits Production and related business, including warehousing, whiskey investment funds, importing/exporting, and logistics.

In this role, Dan is responsible for providing Horton clients with comprehensive, cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet their most complex, risk-related challenges. For Dan, a truly meaningful business relationship is one based on client advocacy and outstanding customer service.

“Clients tell me they appreciate how available and responsive I am by phone and email,” said Dan. “I have trouble letting an email or call go without a response, even when I’m occupied with another task.”

Dan has proven to be a leader in risk management consulting services. He continually exceeds goals within his division and aspires to be a trusted source within the Distilled Spirits industry. In addition, Dan hopes to continue mentoring and advising new producers at the Horton Group in the same way many of his colleagues assisted him in his earlier years.

“My personal philosophy regarding insurance revolves around being armed with full information, options to choose from, and transparent guidance,” said Dan. “I would rather lose a deal than provide incorrect information or knowingly mislead someone.”

One of the defining moments in Dan’s career came when a client expressed gratitude for the pivotal role he played in saving their business. This stands as a testament to Dan’s unwavering dedication to providing valuable advice and services that go beyond mere transactions.

“A warm referral from within an industry specialization speaks volumes to me about how my clients view the service I provide,” said Dan. “Any time I get a referral from a client or a networking colleague, I feel validated that I must be doing something right.”

Dan’s hometown is Hammond, IN. He attended Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. While at IU, Dan competed on the Track and Field team as a hammer and discus thrower. In 2012, he was part of the Big Ten Championship team.

Dan met his wife Brittney through athletics at IU and married her in 2015. Today, they live with their two children, Charlotte and Matthias, in McCordsville, IN, in the home they built in October 2023.
