CHICAGO (July 10, 2023) – The Horton Group, one of the largest privately-held insurance brokers in the United States, announced that Andy Howard has joined the company as the practice group leader of Horton’s Commercial Property practice.

Howard will serve as a subject matter expert on property placements and a carrier liaison. His primary goals revolve around building and strengthening Horton’s property department. He aims to establish a team that excels in all aspects of property insurance and ensures its growth and success.

“There’s always a need for property insurance – especially in this market, which is one of the hardest property markets we’ve seen in 30 years” Howard said. “With a significant reduction in options, terms, and conditions, the property market lacks capacity. It’s a dynamic and ever-evolving industry, so it’s important to work with professionals who keep up with current conditions.”

Howard brings over 15 years of insurance experience, and his expertise extends across multiple domains within property insurance. He possesses a wealth of knowledge in Excess and Surplus (E&S) property, international property and property broking in challenging market conditions. His comprehensive understanding of these diverse areas allows him to provide tailored solutions to clients and meet their specific insurance needs.

“Andy brings a tremendous amount of energy and experience to Horton,” said Dan Horton, CEO of The Horton Group. “I am confident that his wealth of knowledge in the commercial sector and strong relationship-building skills will make him a solid addition to our team and a trusted resource for our clients.”

Andy earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Western Illinois University, majoring in management. He holds a Property & Casualty license and an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) certificate.
