The FMCSA issued a safety advisory to drivers last month regarding some potential dangers surrounding e-cigarettes.
The advisory warns that, in some instances, components of e-cigarettes and similar electronic devices may catch fire or explode. If that happens, other flammable materials may catch fire. Drivers—especially those hauling flammable or combustible loads—are urged to heed the advisory and exercise good judgment when using e-cigarettes in or around their vehicles.
