John Schulte is a Vice President for Horton’s Employee Benefit Solutions Division. In this role, he is responsible for providing Horton clients with comprehensive, cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet their most complex, risk-related challenges and opportunities.

Before Horton, John spent four years as an underwriter and communications specialist with CNA Financial. Thus far, he says “the highlight of my insurance career is joining the Horton Group as a property and casualty producer.”

As an Inland Marine and Property underwriter, he acquired a unique and comprehensive understanding of where contractors can be exposed from a risk and insurance standpoint.

“I also keep a pulse on the market and have an in-depth understanding of how and why it is constantly fluctuating.”

John is constantly striving to stay on top of new and ever-changing technology. By understanding emerging trends and their potential risks, he helps clients manage their own risk, and turns such risks into opportunities to achieve industry leadership, thus allowing optimization of operations as customers grow.

John knows that the commercial insurance industry is quite competitive. With such competition, clients have grown to expect that the people they work with are reliable and trusted advisors, showing passion in their effort to provide insight and solutions. Horton’s reputation is a primary factor as to why he joined Horton. “It is a company which excels at providing clients with a trustworthy partnership.”

Graduating in 2014,  John attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship. John was the first American ever to play for L’Handbol Poblenou in La Primera Divisió Nacional handball league in Barcelona, Spain. In his time away from work, John loves to golf, play 16” softball, and also serves as a board member for the Greater Organization for the Less Fortunate (G.O.L.F.).
