Melissa Johnson
Sales Executive
Melissa Johnson is a Sales Executive for Horton’s Risk Advisory Solutions Division. In this role, Melissa is responsible for providing Horton’s manufacturing clients with comprehensive, cost-effective, and innovative solutions to meet their most complex, risk-related challenges and opportunities.
Melissa brings 20 years of sales experience to Horton, specializing in the steel industry. Prior to Horton, she worked as an outside sales representative for O’Neal Steel, achieving an average year-over-year growth of 16 percent. Throughout the years, she developed an eye for detail, mastered the art of multitasking and realized she has a real knack for building relationships.
“No two clients are alike,” she says. “Listening is key to fully understanding what each client wants and needs. Building strong relationships with your clients will make it easier to successfully solve their issues and will set you apart from the competition.”
The insurance industry is ever-changing, and Melissa believes that there is a greater need for innovative solutions: “It is imperative that we fully understand our clients and their line of work, so we can provide targeted solutions tailored to their specific needs.”
Melissa is committed to achieving happiness inside and outside of the office (the song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin perfectly sums up her philosophy on life). She is married to her high school sweetheart, and they have three children – two sons and one daughter. When she’s not advocating on behalf of her clients, you can typically find her at the golf course, redecorating her house or cheering her kids on at one of their sporting events.
