Genalle Miller
Senior Safety Consultant
Genalle Miller is a Senior Safety Consultant for Horton Safety Consultants, a Horton subsidiary which provides comprehensive safety consulting services to a growing number of industrial, construction, public entity and service operations. Since 1991, Horton’s Safety Consultants team has offered clients a multitude of services designed to control exposure to risk at every level of operation.
Genalle joined Horton in 2015, bringing more than seven years of experience in environmental/occupational health and safety to her Horton clients. Over the years, Genalle has honed her knowledge of how to assess and prioritize clients’ needs.
“Every position I’ve held has taught me different aspects of safety and health,” said Genalle. Prior to joining Horton, Genalle served as a Safety Administrator at CDW for three years. Genalle’s previous positions included serving as a Senior Safety Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton and as a Safety Specialist at the Federal Reserve Board.
At Horton, Genalle focuses on assisting clients with OSHA compliance and helping them lower their MOD ratings. Out at client sites virtually every day, Genalle’s daily responsibilities include conducting safety audits, writing Lockout/Tagout procedures, and attending accident review boards. Through it all, Genalle never loses sight of her most important goal.
“For me, the number one priority is preventing injuries, illnesses and fatalities at my clients’ facilities,” said Genalle. Her most rewarding moments come when clients tell her they’ve had a decrease in safety incidents since she joined their team.
Genalle earned a Master of Public Health Degree in Environmental and Occupational Health from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Global Health from the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
Genalle grew up in Carol Stream, Illinois. After college, she lived and worked in Washington, D.C and Arlington, Virginia for five years. Currently, she and her husband reside in West Dundee, Illinois. In her time away from work, Genalle enjoys watching the food network and trying out new recipes. Her love of cooking was inspired by growing up with her Italian grandmother.
