TJ Connors is a Sales Executive for Horton’s Benefit Solutions. In this role, TJ is responsible for providing industry expertise and consultative guidance to aid clients in navigating the ever-changing marketplace. He is part of a team of employee-benefits focused specialists dedicated to delivering innovative healthcare solutions to employers.
Before joining Horton in 2019, TJ worked as a Commercial Insurance Producer with Northern Insurance Service for two years and as a Consultant with West Monroe Partners for three years. His diverse background provided him with the opportunity to interact with professionals across a multitude of industries. These experiences have allowed TJ to develop the unique ability to relate to his clients and most importantly earn their trust.
TJ believes that the old axiom, “knowledge is power” is especially true in the insurance industry. His philosophy regarding the industry and client advocacy is to “keep clients informed and never take a ‘one size fits all’ approach.” Keeping this mentality allows TJ to stay prepared and stay ahead of trends for his clients.
TJ takes pride in being able to make an impact on the lives of his clients when teaching them something new about their coverage. “It’s our job to be the experts for our clients, and insurance can be complicated. I love being able to add clarity for a client, creating peace of mind,” he stated.
TJ is highly invested in maintaining strong client relationships through honesty, integrity, and trust. By emphasizing these values, he aligns himself with Horton’s values of drive, excellence, and togetherness, continuing to stay invested in Horton clients’ successes.
TJ grew up in Naperville, IL, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Iowa. He currently resides in Chicago with his wife and daughter. Outside of work, he has written and performed several sketch comedy shows throughout the city.
